What is the best way to apply Relink 2318b carpet tape?

Pre-application cleaning

Always ensure that the composite floor panels are free of dust and adhesive residue, that may have been left by the ‘old’ product, used previously to relink 2318. If it is applied over dust, dirt or residue, it may affect the adhesive strength of the relink2318b, possibly causing lifting of the carpet.

Applying Relink 2318b carpet tape

To ensure stress free application and removal, please follow our basic principles;

Apply the relink2318 onto the clean floor panels, using a roller or squeegee, applying even pressure along the length, avoiding wrinkles.

Plan to apply tape strips to the edges and middle of the carpet parts, providing approx. 50-70% surface coverage in the aisle and 30-50% in the seating areas. Full coverage can be utilized in wet or high traffic areas, so as to provide a robust, full protection of the composite floor.

Apply 2318 over the floor seams and joints, to seal against ingress of dirt and liquid.

Remove the liner just prior to installation of the carpet or mats, so as to avoid the possible

contamination of the adhesive surface. The liner should be pulled back parallel to the tape, to ensure tear free, one piece removal.

Press the carpet securely into place, using even pressure across the whole surface.

A small amount of reposition-ability is possible within the first 5-10mins of the carpet being laid.
